The Westin, Santa Clara, USA
Heavenly beds/bathroom
This is a very large hotel, but once in your room, the bed is definitely heavenly (trademark) and oh so comfortable!
The showers have two shower heads which are lovely and so too are the toiletries.

Forte Posthouse, Basingstoke, UK
work in progress
If you like to stay at a hotel with major buildig work in progress, not announced when you book the room, with dirty footsteps all over the ground floor, where the staff is friendly but does not remember you booked a no smoking room, where you reach the no smoking rooms after going through a smelly smoky corridor, where a £10 buffet breakfast, served in temporarily meeting room facilities, means no service, no plates unless you ask for, no cereal bowls unless you ask for, scrambled eggs that have never seen a chicken, only to be consumed with proper health insurance, than this is your place. Apart from a faulty strip light in the bathroom, the room was OK, although only worth the £39 week-end rate and not one penny more.

Chase Lodge Hotel, Kingston-Upon-Thames, UK
Tourist trap warning !
Notwithstanding my written cancellation (with confirmation of receipt) 33
days before the planned day of arrival, these people later charged my credit
card for a no show. They claim this is normal practice. Notwithstanding
repeated and formal requests, they still owe me a £302 refund. Tourist trap
warning! Stay away!

Jolly Hotel Vivaldi, Berlin, Germany
Training anyone?
The hotel itself was very good looking. Our room was beautiful and modern with a nice big balcony. The problem was the service. The people were all very friendly, but had absolutely no idea how to run the hotel. We never did get the heat or the internet connection to work and the employees were no help at all, though they tried and tried to get things right, they just had no idea. It was billed as a four star hotel, but instead of going back to our room and relaxing, it was a constant battle to get things working.

Borobudur Inter-Continental, Jakarta, Indonesia
Strange mixture
This is a strange hotel. I stayed in the deluxe room and found the service lacking. Housekeeping had removed the free coffee, tea and electric kettle that was suppose to be included in my room rate.
The bed could be better.
On the plus side, the buffet dinner is excellent value (the local oxtail soup is excellent) and the hotel has an excellent spa.
